In addition to eliminating the dust during unloading, the DustControl system installed since 2004 in this receiving pit has decreased the risk of dust explosions. The systems do double duty, decreasing risks to the operators and to the environment against pollution.

The DustControl inhibits the emission of sugar dust during receiving, making it a safer environment.
DustControl consists of modules that cover the entire surface of the hopper, allowing air to escape only if there is a filtering medium above it to remove the dust. The first DustControl systems, installed 20 years ago, are still in operation and have never required any maintenance.
