Cargill, one of the largest agribusiness companies in the world, has a river terminal in Santarém, Pará, dedicated to the transport of grains, especially soybeans, from the Central-West region of Brazil to its export facilities. Opened in 2003, the terminal was expanded in 2014 to increase its capacity from 2 million to 5 million tons, optimizing export logistics.
The terminal's operation involves the movement of large volumes of grain, generating dust emissions that can affect the health of workers and the environment. To mitigate these impacts, Cargill installed two DustControl systems from Wings Ltda., which use metal modules positioned below the hopper grate to capture and filter the dust generated during the unloading process. This system contributes to a safer and healthier work environment, in addition to complying with environmental standards.
The collaboration between Cargill and Wings Ltda. reflects the company's commitment to sustainable practices and social responsibility, ensuring efficient operations with low environmental impact at its Santarém facilities.
