How did Wings begin?

Wings initiated its activities in 1983, manufacturing the first Brazilian pneumatic chick vaccinator. Its line of products grew with the development of new equipment such as ocular vaccinators, the automatic debeaker, egg transfer equipment and the in-egg vaccinator, Ovo-Jector (one of only four manufacturers in the world). The Ovo-Jector patents were sold to the Merial vaccine company in 2012.

David Smith

I moved to Brazil over 40 years ago as the first employee of the future GSI Brasil, a major manufacturer of grain silos. In 1983, I started Wings, manufacturing the first pneumatic chick vaccine in the country and gradually developing a complete line of products for poultry hatcheries. Since selling my patents for the Ovo-Jector egg injector to the vaccine company Merial in 2012, I have dedicated my time to the manufacture of DustControl systems that prevent dust from being expelled into the environment from receiving pits.

Linda Smith

I have lived in Brazil for almost 50 years, with experiences in both the private sector and as a volunteer in NGOs. Since the beginning of Wings, I have administrated the financial sector, As my education was in sociology and nutrition, I took numerous short courses at major universities to learn new skills in accounting and management. In addition to the day-to-day responsibilities, I am responsible for many of the company’s new projects. I enjoy the challenges of developing processes for improving the company’s operations.

Today, as the junior managing partner, I work with the employees, suppliers and clients to coordinate production of our products and am committed to guaranteeing smooth commercial and manufacturing operations to achieve our objectives.
